Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Machine won't run Not plugged in, foot pedal disconnected, power switch off Check power connections, ensure foot pedal is plugged in, turn power switch on
Thread bunching underneath Incorrect threading, bobbin inserted wrong, tension issues Re-thread completely, check bobbin direction, adjust tension
Needle breaks Wrong needle type, bent needle, incorrect insertion Replace with correct needle type, ensure straight insertion
Skipped stitches Dull needle, wrong needle for fabric, incorrect threading Change needle, use appropriate needle type, re-thread
Fabric not feeding Feed dogs lowered, presser foot pressure too light Raise feed dogs, increase presser foot pressure
Unusual noises Lint buildup, loose parts, thread jam Clean lint, tighten screws, remove thread jam

Common Issues & Solutions

  • Thread Tension Problems: Always re-thread both top and bobbin threads completely
  • Needle Selection: Use ballpoint needles for knits, sharp needles for wovens
  • Bobbin Issues: Ensure bobbin is wound evenly and inserted in correct direction
  • Maintenance: Clean lint regularly and oil as per manual instructions
  • Fabric Handling: Don't pull fabric - let feed dogs move it naturally
  • Stitch Length: Adjust stitch length based on fabric weight and project type
