Problem Possible Cause Solution
Machine won't run Not plugged in, foot controller not connected, thread jam Check power connection, ensure foot controller is plugged in, remove thread jam
Thread breaking Incorrect threading, damaged needle, wrong tension Re-thread machine, replace needle, adjust tension
Skipped stitches Wrong needle type/size, bent needle, incorrect threading Use correct needle for fabric, replace needle, re-thread machine
Fabric not feeding Feed dogs lowered, presser foot pressure too light Raise feed dogs, increase presser foot pressure
Uneven stitches Incorrect tension, dirty machine, poor quality thread Adjust tension, clean machine, use quality thread
Loud noise or vibration Lint buildup, missing parts, unbalanced placement Clean machine, check for missing parts, place on stable surface

Common Issues & Solutions

  • Needle breaks: Use correct needle type and size for fabric. Ensure needle is inserted fully and tightened.
  • Bobbin thread bunching: Re-thread bobbin case. Ensure bobbin is inserted correctly with thread running counterclockwise.
  • Machine jams: Turn handwheel backward to free jam. Remove fabric and cut threads to clear obstruction.
  • Buttonhole issues: Use stabilizer for delicate fabrics. Ensure buttonhole foot is properly attached.
  • Tension problems: Clean tension discs. Re-thread machine completely. Test on scrap fabric.
  • Thread fraying: Use quality thread. Check for rough spots on needle plate or hook.
