Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Machine won't sew | Power issue, foot control not connected | Check power supply, ensure foot control is properly plugged in |
| Thread bunching underneath | Incorrect threading, wrong bobbin insertion | Re-thread top and bobbin, ensure bobbin turns counter-clockwise |
| Needle breaks | Wrong needle type, bent needle, incorrect insertion | Replace needle, ensure flat side faces back, use correct needle for fabric |
| Uneven stitches | Incorrect tension, dirty tension discs | Adjust tension settings, clean between tension discs with folded fabric |
| Fabric not feeding | Presser foot pressure too light, feed dogs lowered | Increase presser foot pressure, raise feed dogs |
| Machine skipping stitches | Blunt needle, wrong needle size, incorrect threading | Change needle, use correct size for fabric, re-thread completely |
Common Issues & Solutions
- Thread breaking: Check for rough spots on needle plate, use quality thread
- Machine jams: Remove fabric, turn handwheel backwards to free mechanism
- Noisy operation: Clean lint buildup, oil moving parts (if required by model)
- Buttonhole issues: Use stabiliser, ensure proper foot attachment
- Tension problems: Clean tension discs, re-thread with presser foot up
- Motor runs but no stitching: Check handwheel clutch is engaged for sewing
