Tools Needed:

  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Needle nose pliers
  • Scissors

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Choose Workspace: Select a stable, well-lit table or sewing cabinet with easy access to power outlet.
  2. Unpack Machine: Remove all packaging materials, protective covers, and shipping restraints from the sewing machine.
  3. Install Needle: Insert the needle with flat side facing back, tighten the needle clamp screw securely.
  4. Thread the Machine: Follow the threading guide printed on the machine, ensuring proper path through tension discs and take-up lever.
  5. Wind Bobbin: Place empty bobbin on winder, thread through bobbin winding tension, and engage bobbin winding mechanism.
  6. Insert Bobbin: Place wound bobbin in bobbin case following directional arrows, pull thread through slot and under tension spring.
  7. Power Connection: Connect foot controller and plug into properly grounded 120V outlet. Turn power switch to ON position.
  8. Test Stitch: Practice stitching on scrap fabric to check tension, stitch formation, and machine operation.
Warning: Always disconnect power before changing needles, cleaning, or performing maintenance. Use only Singer recommended accessories.
