Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Machine won't run Power issue, foot control disconnected Check power cord connection, ensure foot control is plugged in
Skipped stitches Wrong needle type, bent needle, incorrect threading Replace needle, rethread completely, use correct needle for fabric
Thread bunching underneath Incorrect bobbin threading, tension too loose Rethread bobbin, adjust bobbin tension, clean bobbin area
Needle breaks Wrong needle size, bent needle, pulling fabric Replace needle, don't pull fabric, use correct needle for project
Uneven stitches Incorrect tension, dirty tension discs, poor quality thread Clean tension discs, adjust tension settings, use quality thread
Fabric not feeding Feed dogs lowered, stitch length set to zero Raise feed dogs, increase stitch length, clean feed dog area

Common Issues & Solutions

  • Thread Tangles: Rethread completely, ensure presser foot is up when threading
  • Noisy Operation: Clean lint buildup, oil moving parts (if required), check for loose screws
  • Buttonhole Issues: Use stabilizer, check buttonhole foot attachment, test on scrap fabric first
  • Tension Problems: Clean tension discs, use same thread top and bottom, adjust gradually
  • Needle Heating: Reduce speed, use correct needle, allow machine to cool periodically
  • Motor Strain: Don't force fabric, clean machine regularly, use proper maintenance
