Specifications

Controls and Functions

Main controls are located on the right side of the machine head.

Stitch Length Regulator: Dial to set seam length. Higher numbers = longer stitches.

Reverse Stitch Lever: Press and hold to sew backwards for reinforcement.

Handwheel: Turn towards you (counter-clockwise) to manually raise/lower needle. Always turn towards you only.

Tension Dial: Controls upper thread tension. Higher number = tighter tension. Correct tension produces balanced stitches.

Bobbin Winder: Located at top right. Disengages needle mechanism when in use.

Light Switch: On/Off for built-in work light.

Threading the Machine

Correct threading is essential for proper operation.

  1. Upper Thread: Spool pin at back. Follow numbered guide: right to left through first thread guide, down and around tension discs, up through take-up lever, down through second guide, and finally through needle eye from front to back.
  2. Bobbin Insertion: Place wound bobbin in bobbin case with thread unwinding counter-clockwise. Pull thread through slot and under tension spring. Insert case into machine until it clicks. Pull bobbin thread up through throat plate.
  3. Drawing Up Bobbin Thread: Hold upper thread tail. Turn handwheel towards you one full rotation to lower and raise needle. Pull upper thread to bring bobbin loop up. Pull both thread tails under presser foot towards the back.

Basic Sewing Operations

  1. Starting: Place fabric under presser foot, lower presser foot lever. Gently press foot controller to start sewing.
  2. Straight Seam: Guide fabric gently, letting the feed dogs move it. Do not pull.
  3. Back-Tacking: Press and hold reverse lever at beginning and end of seam for 2-3 stitches to lock stitches.
  4. Turning Corners: Stop with needle down in fabric. Raise presser foot, pivot fabric, lower presser foot, continue sewing.
  5. Finishing: Raise needle to highest position. Raise presser foot. Pull fabric to rear and cut threads using built-in thread cutter or scissors.

Tip: Practice on scrap fabric to adjust stitch length and tension for your project.

Maintenance & Lubrication

Regular maintenance ensures long life and smooth operation.

  1. Daily: Brush out lint from bobbin area and feed dogs. Wipe exterior with soft cloth.
  2. Weekly/Oil Change: Apply 1-2 drops of sewing machine oil to designated points: hinge of presser foot bar, needle bar, take-up lever, and inside the bobbin hook race. Run machine without thread for a minute to distribute oil.
  3. Bobbin Case: Occasionally oil the bobbin case spring and hinge point.
  4. Motor: Do not oil the motor. Have it serviced by a professional if needed.

CAUTION! Use only high-quality sewing machine oil. Unplug machine before oiling.

Needles & Presser Feet

Needles: Use Singer 2020 or 15x1 needles. Change needle after every 8-10 hours of sewing or with each new project. A bent or dull needle causes skipped stitches and fabric damage.

Presser Feet: Uses standard low-shank feet. Common feet include:

To change foot: Raise needle, lift presser foot lever, press lever on back of foot shank to release.
