Unpacking and Setup

Unpack and inspect all contents. Place on a stable, level surface.

1. Remove machine from box: Lift by the carrying handle, not by the handwheel.
2. Attach power cord: Plug foot control into machine, then plug power cord into a 110-120V outlet.
3. Install needle: Loosen needle clamp screw, insert needle with flat side to the back, tighten screw.
4. Attach presser foot: Raise presser foot lever, snap on appropriate foot (zigzag foot is default).
5. Wind and insert bobbin: Follow threading guide in section 6.

WARNING! Keep fingers away from needle area during operation. Always unplug machine when not in use or when changing needles/feet.

First-Time Operation

Plug in machine and turn on power switch.

1. Thread the machine: Follow numbered guides on machine from spool pin to needle.
2. Draw up bobbin thread: Hold needle thread, turn handwheel toward you to bring bobbin thread up.
3. Select stitch: Turn stitch selection dial to desired pattern (e.g., straight stitch).
4. Test sew: Place fabric under presser foot, lower foot, and gently press foot control.
5. Adjust tension: If stitches are uneven, refer to tension adjustment in controls section.

CAUTION! Always start with needle at highest position. Do not pull fabric; let feed dogs move it.

Controls and Stitch Selection

Stitch Selection Dial: Turn to select one of 7 stitch symbols (straight, zigzag, blind hem, elastic stitch, etc.).

Stitch Length: 0 for bobbin winding, 1-4 for sewing (higher number = longer stitch). Stitch Width: 0-5 mm for zigzag width (0 for straight stitch). Reverse Lever: Hold down to sew backwards for reinforcement. Tension Dial: Upper thread tension (usually set to 4 for balanced stitches). Threading and Bobbin Winding

Upper Threading: 1. Raise presser foot and needle to highest position. 2. Place spool on spool pin. 3. Follow numbered guides: through first thread guide, around tension discs, through take-up lever, down to needle. 4. Thread needle from front to back.

Bobbin Winding: 1. Place empty bobbin on winder spindle. 2. Guide thread from spool through bobbin winder tension disc. 3. Push bobbin winder to right until it clicks. 4. Hold thread end, press foot control to wind. 5. Stop when bobbin is full, cut thread, push winder back.

Inserting Bobbin: 1. Open bobbin cover. 2. Drop bobbin in with thread unwinding counterclockwise. 3. Pull thread through slot and under tension spring. 4. Close cover.

Basic Sewing Techniques

1. Straight Stitch: Select straight stitch symbol. Set length 2-3. Sew with fabric edge aligned with seam guide.
2. Zigzag Stitch: Select zigzag symbol. Adjust width as needed. Use for finishing edges or stretch fabrics.
3. Buttonhole: Attach buttonhole foot. Select step 1 (right side), sew. Step 2 (bartack). Step 3 (left side). Step 4 (bartack).
4. Blind Hem: Fold fabric as per manual. Select blind hem stitch. Sew with folded edge against guide.
5. Reverse Sewing: Hold reverse lever to sew backwards at start and end of seam.
6. Free Arm Sewing: Remove accessory storage box to access free arm for sleeves and cuffs.

Tip: Practice on scrap fabric first. Always lower presser foot before sewing.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Unplug machine before any maintenance.

1. Daily: Brush out lint from bobbin area and feed dogs with small brush.
2. Monthly: Remove needle plate and bobbin case to clean thoroughly.
3. Oiling: Apply 1 drop of sewing machine oil to hook race and moving parts as indicated in diagram (do not oil needle or electronic parts).
4. Needle Replacement: Replace needle after every project or if bent/dull.

CAUTION! Use only sewing machine oil. Never use household oils. Wipe excess oil before sewing.
