Unpacking and Setup

Carefully unpack all components and place the machine on a stable, flat surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials from the machine and accessories.
  2. Place the machine on a sturdy table near a power outlet.
  3. Attach the power cord to the machine and plug into a 120V AC outlet.
  4. Connect the foot pedal to the machine.
  5. Install the accessory box and slide on the extension table (if removed).

WARNING! Do not lift the machine by the handwheel or thread spool pin. Always carry by the main body.

First-Time Operation

Before sewing your first stitch, complete these setup steps.

  1. Raise the presser foot using the lever.
  2. Wind and insert the bobbin following the threading diagram.
  3. Thread the upper thread using the automatic needle threader.
  4. Pull both threads under the presser foot toward the back.
  5. Select a straight stitch (position 1) using the stitch selection dial.
  6. Place fabric under the presser foot, lower the presser foot lever, and gently press the foot pedal to begin sewing.

CAUTION! Always turn the handwheel toward you (counter-clockwise) to avoid timing issues.

Threading the Machine

  2. Bobbin Winding: Place empty bobbin on winder spindle. Guide thread from spool through bobbin winding tension disc. Press bobbin winder to engage. Press foot pedal to wind. Stop when full.
  3. Inserting Bobbin: Open bobbin cover. Drop bobbin in with thread unwinding counter-clockwise. Pull thread through slot and under tension spring. Close cover.

Tip: Always raise the presser foot when threading to open the upper thread tension discs.

Selecting Stitches

The machine offers 23 stitches for various sewing tasks.

  1. Straight Stitch (1): For basic seaming. Adjust length as needed.
  2. Zigzag Stitch (2-6): For finishing edges, appliqué, and stretch fabrics. Adjust width and length.
  3. Blind Hem Stitch (7): Use with blind hem foot for nearly invisible hems.
  4. Decorative Stitches (8-23): For embellishments. May require stabilizer.
  5. Buttonhole (marked B): Attach buttonhole foot. Stitch is automatic in one sequence.

WARNING! Always test stitch on a fabric scrap before sewing your project.

Maintenance & Cleaning

  2. Remove the needle plate screws and lift off the plate.
  3. Use the small brush provided to remove lint and thread bits from the feed dogs and bobbin area.
