Unpacking and Setup

Unpack and inspect all contents. Place on a stable, flat surface.

  1. Remove machine from box: Lift machine by its carrying handle, not by the free arm.
  2. Attach power cord: Plug the foot control into the machine, then plug the power cord into a wall outlet.
  3. Install needle: Use the included screwdriver to loosen needle clamp screw, insert needle with flat side to the back, tighten screw.
  4. Wind bobbin: Follow bobbin winding instructions in section 7.
  5. Thread machine: Follow upper threading diagram on machine.

WARNING! Keep fingers away from needle area during operation. Always turn power off when threading or changing accessories.

First-Time Operation

Power on machine; built-in light will illuminate.

  1. Select stitch: Turn stitch selection dial to desired stitch number.

  3. Test on scrap fabric: Always test stitch on a double layer of scrap fabric first.

Stitch Selection: Turn dial to select from 11 stitches (see chart on machine). Stitch Length: Adjust from 0-4 mm (0 for buttonhole). Stitch Width: Adjust from 0-5 mm for zigzag and decorative stitches. Presser Foot Pressure: Dial on top of machine; increase for thick fabrics, decrease for thin fabrics. Tension Dial: Adjust thread tension (4 is normal setting).

Threading and Bobbin Winding

Bobbin Winding:

  1. Place spool on spool pin.
  2. Pull thread through bobbin winding tension disc.
  3. Place empty bobbin on spindle, push to right.
  4. Hold thread end, press foot control to wind bobbin.
  5. Stop when bobbin is full, cut thread, push spindle left to remove.

Upper Threading:

  1. Follow numbered threading path on machine.
  2. Use built-in needle threader: Lower lever, hook thread, release lever to pull thread through needle.

Inserting Bobbin: Drop bobbin into case with thread running counterclockwise. Pull thread through slot and under tension spring.

Stitch Selection and Applications

Refer to stitch chart on machine for recommended uses:

  1. Straight Stitch (1): General sewing, forward/reverse.
  2. Zigzag Stitch (2-4): Overcasting, appliqué, stretch fabrics.
  3. Blind Hem Stitch (5): Nearly invisible hems on garments.
  4. Decorative Stitches (6-11): For embellishment on various fabrics.
  5. 4-Step Buttonhole (A-D): Use buttonhole foot; follow steps marked on stitch dial.

Tip: Always test stitch settings on a fabric scrap before starting your project.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Unplug machine before any maintenance.

  1. Daily: Brush out lint from bobbin area and feed dogs.
  2. Monthly: Remove needle plate and bobbin case to clean thoroughly.
  3. Oiling: Apply 1-2 drops of sewing machine oil to designated points (see diagram) every few months or after heavy use.
