Unpacking and Setup

Remove all packaging materials and inspect contents. Place machine on a stable, flat surface.

  1. Install the needle: Loosen needle clamp screw, insert needle with flat side toward back, tighten screw.
  2. Wind the bobbin: Place thread on spool pin, guide thread through bobbin winder tension disc, place bobbin on winder shaft, push shaft to right, press foot pedal to wind.
  3. Insert bobbin: Open bobbin cover, drop bobbin into case with thread running counterclockwise, pull thread through slot and under tension spring.
  4. Thread the upper thread: Follow numbered threading path on machine, use built-in needle threader if needed.
  5. Connect power: Plug foot pedal into machine, then plug power cord into 110-120V outlet.

WARNING! Keep fingers away from needle area during setup and operation. Ensure machine is unplugged during needle/bobbin changes.

First-Time Operation

Power on machine using switch on foot pedal or machine.

  1. Select a stitch: Turn stitch selection dial to desired stitch number (refer to stitch guide).
  2. Adjust stitch length/width: Set dials according to fabric and stitch type.
  3. Practice on scrap fabric: Lower presser foot, gently press foot pedal to start sewing.
  4. Use reverse: Hold reverse lever to sew backwards for reinforcement.
  5. Finish sewing: Raise needle to highest position, raise presser foot, pull fabric back to cut thread.

CAUTION! Always turn handwheel toward you (counterclockwise) to avoid timing disruption. Never force the handwheel.
