Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a stable, flat surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and protective covers.
  2. Attach the foot controller to the machine's port.
  3. Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.
  4. Install the needle: Loosen needle clamp screw, insert needle with flat side to the back, tighten screw.
  5. Attach the presser foot: Lower presser foot lever, align foot with shank, and lower the lever to lock.

WARNING! Keep fingers away from moving parts. Unplug machine when not in use or during maintenance.

First-Time Use

Power on the machine; follow these steps to begin sewing.

  1. Wind the bobbin: Place thread spool on spool pin, guide thread through bobbin winding tension disc, and wind bobbin evenly.
  2. Insert bobbin: Open bobbin cover, drop bobbin into case with thread unwinding counterclockwise, pull thread through slot.
  3. Thread the upper thread: Use automatic needle threader or follow threading guide from spool to needle.
  4. Raise presser foot and pull both threads under the foot toward the back.
  5. Select a stitch using the stitch selector dial.
  6. Test sew on a scrap fabric to adjust tension and stitch settings.

CAUTION! Always start with the needle in the highest position. Keep hands clear of the needle area while sewing.

  1. Upper Threading: Follow numbered guides from spool pin to needle. Use automatic needle threader by pushing lever down and hooking thread through needle eye.
  2. Bobbin Winding: Place spool on pin, thread through guide, wrap thread around bobbin clockwise, engage bobbin winder, and press foot controller.
  3. Bobbin Insertion: Open cover, drop bobbin in with thread unwinding counterclockwise, pull thread through slot and under tension spring.
  4. Drawing Up Bobbin Thread: Hold upper thread, turn handwheel toward you until needle goes down and up, pull upper thread to bring bobbin thread up through needle plate.

WARNING! Ensure machine is off when threading. Keep threads free of knots and tangles.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. Unplug machine before cleaning.
  2. Remove needle plate and bobbin case to clean lint and dust with brush.
  3. Oil moving parts as per manual instructions (use only Singer sewing machine oil).
  4. Wipe exterior with a soft, dry cloth.
