Unpacking and Setup

Unpack and inspect all contents. Place on stable, level surface.

  1. Remove machine from packaging: Lift machine by base, not by handwheel or accessories.
  2. Attach foot controller: Plug into machine port at front right side.
  3. Install needle: Loosen needle clamp screw, insert needle with flat side to back, tighten screw.
  4. Wind bobbin: Place thread on spool pin, guide through tension disc, wind onto bobbin.
  5. Insert bobbin: Drop bobbin into case with thread unwinding counterclockwise.
  6. Thread upper thread: Follow numbered threading path on machine.
  7. Plug into power: Connect power cord to machine and 120V AC outlet.

WARNING! Machine is heavy; use both hands when lifting. Keep fingers away from needle area during operation.

First-Time Operation

Power on machine; LED light will illuminate.

  1. Select straight stitch: Turn stitch selection dial to straight stitch position (usually "0").
  2. Set stitch length: Adjust to medium setting (2.5-3.0) for general sewing.
  3. Test sew: Place fabric under presser foot, lower presser foot lever, gently press foot controller.
  4. Practice reverse: Press reverse button at beginning and end of seam to lock stitches.
  5. Change stitches: Experiment with different built-in stitches using selection dial.
  6. Adjust tension: For balanced stitches, upper and bobbin threads should lock in middle of fabric.

CAUTION! Always turn handwheel toward you (counterclockwise) to avoid timing issues. Disconnect power when changing needles or performing maintenance.
