Unpacking and Setup

Unpack and inspect all contents. Place on a stable, flat surface.

  1. Remove machine from packaging: Lift machine by its carrying handle, not by the free arm.
  2. Attach foot pedal: Connect foot pedal cord to machine port.
  3. Connect power: Plug power cord into machine and then into a 120V AC outlet.
  4. Install needle: Loosen needle clamp screw, insert needle with flat side to the back, tighten screw.
  5. Wind bobbin: Place bobbin on winder, thread through guide, press bobbin winder lever.

WARNING! Keep fingers away from needle area during operation. Always unplug machine when not in use or when changing accessories.

First-Time Operation

Plug in machine and turn power switch on.

  1. Thread the machine: Follow numbered guides from spool pin to needle.
  2. Insert bobbin: Open bobbin cover, drop in bobbin with thread unwinding counterclockwise.
  3. Raise presser foot: Lift presser foot lever to thread upper thread.
  4. Pull up bobbin thread: Hold upper thread, turn handwheel toward you to bring up bobbin thread.
  5. Select stitch: Turn stitch selection dial to desired pattern.
  6. Test sew: Place fabric under presser foot, lower foot, and gently press foot pedal.

CAUTION! Always start with needle at highest position. Do not force fabric; let feed dogs move it.
