Specifications

Controls and Settings

Access all functions via dials and levers on the front and side of the machine.

Main Controls: Power Switch, Stitch Selector Dial, Stitch Length Dial, Stitch Width Dial, Reverse Stitch Lever, Bobbin Winder Spindle, Handwheel.

Stitch Length Dial: Adjusts from 0 (for buttonholes) to 4mm. Stitch Width Dial: Adjusts from 0mm to 5mm for zigzag and decorative stitches. Tension Dial: Adjusts upper thread tension (typically set between 4-5 for balanced stitches). Presser Foot Pressure: Adjustable via dial on top of machine for different fabric thicknesses.

Stitch Selection and Applications

Refer to the stitch chart on the machine or manual for specific stitch numbers and uses.

  1. Straight Stitch (1-3): For basic seaming, topstitching, and basting.
  2. Zigzag Stitch (4-6): For finishing edges, sewing stretch fabrics, and appliqué.
  3. Decorative Stitches (7-24): For embellishing projects.
  4. Stretch Stitches (25-34): For knits and elastic fabrics to prevent popped seams.
  5. 4-Step Buttonhole (B1-B4): Use the buttonhole foot and follow the numbered steps marked on the machine.

Tip: Always test your stitch settings on a scrap of your project fabric before sewing.

Threading and Bobbin Winding

Supports standard sewing thread and Class 15 transparent bobbins.

  1. Winding the Bobbin: Place spool on spool pin. Guide thread through bobbin winding tension disk. Place empty bobbin on spindle, push to the right. Hold thread end, press foot pedal until bobbin is full, then cut thread.
  2. Inserting the Bobbin: Open the bobbin cover. Place bobbin in case with thread unwinding counterclockwise. Pull thread through the slot and under the tension spring. Close the cover.
  3. Threading the Upper Thread: Raise presser foot and needle to highest position. Follow numbered threading path on machine. Use the automatic needle threader by pulling the lever down towards you, hooking the thread, and releasing the lever.

WARNING! Ensure the presser foot is raised when threading to open the upper tension discs.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Unplug the machine before any maintenance. Regularly clean lint and dust from the bobbin area and feed dogs using the lint brush.

  1. Remove the needle plate and bobbin case to access the bobbin area.
  2. Use the lint brush to remove all lint and thread fragments.
  3. Apply a small drop of sewing machine oil to the hook race (as indicated in the manual) every few months or after extensive use.
  4. Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth.

CAUTION! Do not use compressed air, as it can force lint deeper into the mechanism. Use only sewing machine oil; other oils can damage the machine.
