Unpacking and Setup

Unpack and inspect all contents. Place on a stable, flat surface.

  1. Remove machine and accessories from packaging.
  2. Attach the removable extension table to the free arm if desired for flat sewing.
  3. Connect the foot pedal to the machine port.
  4. Plug the power cord into the machine and then into a standard 120V AC outlet.
  5. Install the needle and thread the machine (see Section 8).

WARNING! The machine is heavy; lift with care using both hands. Ensure the work area is clean and well-lit.

First-Time Operation

Power on the machine using the power switch; the LED light will turn on.

  1. Wind and insert the bobbin (see Section 8).
  2. Thread the upper thread using the automatic needle threader.
  3. Raise the presser foot and pull both threads under the foot towards the back.
  4. Select a basic straight stitch (stitch #1) using the stitch selector dial.
  5. Place a scrap fabric under the presser foot, lower the foot, and gently press the foot pedal to start sewing.
  6. Practice controlling speed and guiding fabric.

CAUTION! Keep fingers away from the needle area while sewing. Always turn the power off and unplug the machine for threading, needle changes, or cleaning.

Main controls are located on the right side of the machine.

Stitch Selector Dial: Turn to choose from 23 stitches. The number corresponds to the stitch diagram on the front panel.

Stitch Length Dial: Adjusts the length of the stitch (0-4 mm). Higher numbers for longer stitches.

Stitch Width Dial: Adjusts the width for zigzag and decorative stitches (0-6 mm).

Reverse Stitch Lever: Hold down to sew in reverse for locking stitches.

Threading and Bobbin Winding

Winding the Bobbin:

  1. Place a spool of thread on the spool pin.
  2. Pull thread through the bobbin winding tension guide.
  3. Place an empty Class 15 bobbin on the winder spindle.
  4. Push the spindle to the right to engage. Press the foot pedal to wind. It will stop automatically when full.
  5. Push spindle back to the left and cut the thread.

Inserting the Bobbin:

  1. Open the bobbin cover plate.
  2. Hold the bobbin with thread unwinding counter-clockwise. Place it into the bobbin case.
  3. Pull the thread into the slot and under the tension spring. Leave a 4-inch tail.
  4. Close the cover.

Threading the Upper Thread: Follow the numbered path on the machine. Use the automatic needle threader for the final step by pulling the lever down and hooking the thread through the needle eye.

WARNING! Ensure the presser foot is raised when threading to open the upper thread tension discs.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Unplug the machine before any maintenance.

  1. Daily: Brush away lint from the needle area, bobbin case, and feed dogs with the provided lint brush.
  2. Needle: Replace bent or dull needles immediately. Use the correct type for your fabric.
  3. Oiling: This is a self-lubricating machine. Do not oil unless specified in advanced service manuals.
  4. Exterior: Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use solvents or sprays.
