Stitch Selection & Settings

Refer to stitch chart on machine or manual for stitch numbers and recommended uses.

  1. Basic Stitches (1-6): For straight stitching, zigzag, and simple seams.
  2. Stretch Stitches (7-13): For knit fabrics to prevent popped seams.
  3. Decorative Stitches (14-31): For embellishments and decorative edges.
  4. Buttonhole Stitch (32): 1-step automatic buttonhole; use buttonhole foot.
  5. Adjusting Length: Higher number = longer stitch. Use 2-2.5 for general sewing.
  6. Adjusting Width: Higher number = wider zigzag. Set to 0 for straight stitches.
  7. Tension: Usually set to 4. Adjust if stitches are looping (lower tension) or puckering (increase tension).

WARNING! Always test stitch on fabric scrap before starting your project.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Unplug machine before any maintenance.

  1. Cleaning: Remove needle plate and bobbin case. Use lint brush to remove lint and dust from feed dogs and bobbin area.
  2. Oiling: Apply 1-2 drops of sewing machine oil to hook race and other moving parts as indicated in manual (not required frequently).
  3. Needle Replacement: Replace needle after every project or if dull/bent.
  4. Storage: Cover machine when not in use to prevent dust accumulation.

CAUTION! Do not use compressed air to clean; it can force lint deeper into the machine.
