Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Machine won't run Power issue, foot control disconnected, motor overload Check power supply, connect foot control, let motor cool if overheated
Thread breaking Incorrect threading, damaged needle, tension too tight Re-thread completely, replace needle, reduce upper tension
Skipped stitches Wrong needle type, bent needle, incorrect threading Use correct needle for fabric, replace needle, check threading
Fabric not feeding Feed dogs lowered, presser foot pressure too light Raise feed dogs, increase presser foot pressure
Unusual noises Lint buildup, lack of lubrication, timing issues Clean lint, oil moving parts, check hook timing
Bird nesting on bobbin Incorrect bobbin threading, tension issues Re-thread bobbin, check bobbin tension, clean bobbin area

Common Error Indicators

  • Motor hums but doesn't run: Thread jam - Remove fabric and cut threads to clear jam
  • Needle breaks: Wrong needle size, bent needle, hitting pins - Replace needle, use correct size
  • Uneven stitches: Incorrect tension, poor quality thread - Adjust tension, use quality thread
  • Machine runs slowly: Lint in motor area, needs lubrication - Clean and oil machine
  • Buttonhole issues: Incorrect foot, fabric too thick - Use buttonhole foot, stabilize fabric
  • Thread bunching: Upper thread not in tension discs - Re-thread upper thread completely
