Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Machine won't run Power issue, foot control disconnected Check power supply, ensure foot control is properly connected
Thread bunching underneath Incorrect bobbin threading, tension too loose Re-thread bobbin, adjust bobbin tension
Needle breaks Wrong needle type, bent needle, pulling fabric Replace with correct needle, don't pull fabric while sewing
Skipped stitches Dull needle, incorrect needle size, wrong thread Change needle, use correct needle for fabric type
Fabric not feeding Presser foot pressure too light, feed dogs lowered Adjust presser foot pressure, raise feed dogs
Uneven stitches Incorrect tension, dirty tension discs Clean tension discs, adjust upper tension

Common Issues and Solutions

  • Thread breaking: Check for rough spots on thread path, use quality thread
  • Machine jams: Remove fabric, turn handwheel backward to free mechanism
  • Noisy operation: Clean lint buildup, oil moving parts as instructed
  • Poor stitch quality: Re-thread completely, check needle installation
  • Buttonhole issues: Stabilize fabric, use appropriate foot
  • Tension problems: Clean between tension discs, adjust gradually
