Unpacking and Setup

  1. Remove all packaging materials from the machine and accessories.
  2. Place the machine on a sturdy table or sewing cabinet.
  3. Attach the foot controller plug to the machine's port.
  4. Plug the power cord into the machine and then into a 120V AC outlet.
  5. Install the accessory box and thread spool pins as directed.

WARNING! The machine is heavy; use caution when lifting. Ensure the work area is well-lit and free of obstructions.

Getting Started

Power on the machine; the LED light will illuminate.

  1. Wind the bobbin: Follow the guided path on the machine to wind thread onto a bobbin.
  2. Insert the bobbin: Place the wound bobbin into the top drop-in bobbin case.
  3. Thread the upper thread: Use the automatic needle threader or follow the numbered threading path.
  4. Select a stitch: Turn the stitch selection dial to your desired pattern.
  5. Practice sewing: Use scrap fabric to test stitch settings and tension.

CAUTION! Keep fingers away from the needle while the machine is in operation. Always turn the handwheel towards you.

Stitch Selection and Settings

  1. Turn the stitch selection dial to the symbol or number of your desired stitch.
  2. For straight stitch: Set width to 0. Adjust length as needed (2.0-2.5 is standard).
  3. For zigzag stitch: Adjust width and length for the desired effect.
  4. For buttonholes: Attach the buttonhole foot, select the buttonhole stitch, and follow the automatic process.
  5. Always test settings on a scrap of your project fabric.

Tip: Use a longer stitch length for basting and a shorter one for reinforcing seams.

Threading and Bobbin Winding

Correct threading is essential for proper stitch formation.

  1. Winding the Bobbin: Place thread on spool pin, guide through pre-tension, wrap around bobbin, and engage bobbin winder.
  2. Upper Threading: Follow the numbered path from spool pin, through the tension discs, up to the take-up lever, and down to the needle. Use the automatic needle threader.
  3. Drawing Up Bobbin Thread: Hold the upper thread tail, turn the handwheel toward you to lower and raise the needle, then pull the upper thread to bring the bobbin thread loop up.

WARNING! Ensure the presser foot is raised when threading the upper thread to allow the thread to seat properly in the tension discs.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. Unplug the machine before any maintenance.
  2. Remove the needle plate and bobbin case to clean lint and dust with the provided brush.
  3. Oil the machine only as specified in the manual, using only sewing machine oil.
  4. Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth.

CAUTION! Never use compressed air, as it can force lint deeper into the mechanism. Do not immerse the machine in water.
