Specifications

Controls and Functions

Main controls located on front and side of machine. Front Panel: Stitch pattern selector, stitch length dial, stitch width dial, reverse stitch lever.

Side/Rear: Power switch, bobbin winder, tension dial, presser foot lever, free arm release.

Stitch Selection: Turn pattern dial to icon matching desired stitch. Stitch Length: Adjust from 0-4 mm for shorter/longer stitches. Stitch Width: Adjust from 0-5 mm for zigzag and decorative stitches. Tension: Adjust dial for balanced stitches (higher numbers for tighter tension). Reverse: Hold lever down to sew backwards for reinforcement.

Stitch Selection and Settings

Refer to stitch chart for recommended settings for different fabrics.

  1. Straight Stitch: Use for seams, topstitching; set width to 0, length 2.5-3 mm.
  2. Zigzag Stitch: Use for finishing edges, appliqué; adjust width and length as needed.
  3. Stretch Stitch: Use for knits and elastic fabrics; prevents popped seams.
  4. Buttonhole: Use automatic 4-step buttonhole foot; follow manual instructions.
  5. Decorative Stitches: Select pattern, test on scrap fabric first.

Tip: Always test stitch settings on a scrap of your project fabric before sewing.

Threading and Bobbin Winding

Correct threading is essential for proper stitch formation.

  1. Upper Threading: Raise presser foot and needle to highest position. Follow numbered guide from spool pin to needle.
  2. Automatic Needle Threader: Lower lever, hook thread onto guide, pull lever back up to pull thread through needle eye.
  3. Bobbin Winding: Place spool on pin, thread through guide, wrap thread around bobbin clockwise, engage bobbin winder, press foot pedal.
  4. Bobbin Insertion: Open cover, drop bobbin in with thread pulling counterclockwise, pull thread through slot and under tension spring.
  5. Bring Up Bobbin Thread: Hold upper thread, turn handwheel toward you to lower and raise needle, pull upper thread to bring bobbin loop up.

WARNING! Ensure machine is off and foot is off pedal during threading. Do not force dials or levers.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. Cleaning: Unplug machine. Remove needle, presser foot, and bobbin case. Use small brush to remove lint from feed dogs, bobbin area, and tension discs.
  2. Oiling: Apply 1-2 drops of sewing machine oil to designated points as shown in manual (e.g., hook race, needle bar). Wipe excess oil.
  3. Needle Replacement: Replace needle after every project or if dull/bent. Use correct type and size for fabric.
  4. Storage: Cover machine when not in use to prevent dust accumulation.

CAUTION! Use only sewing machine oil. Do not use household oils. Never spray cleaners directly onto machine.
