Unpacking and Setup

Carefully unpack all contents. Place machine on a stable, flat surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and protective covers.
  2. Attach the power cord to the machine and plug into a standard 120V AC outlet.
  3. Install the foot pedal and connect it to the machine.
  4. Attach the accessory box to the free arm or store nearby.
  5. Raise the presser foot lifter and install a needle if not pre-installed.

WARNING! Machine is heavy; lift with care using both hands. Ensure the work area is clean and well-lit.

First-Time Use

Power on the machine using the power switch; the LED light will illuminate.

  1. Wind and insert the bobbin: Follow the diagram on the machine to wind thread onto a bobbin and place it in the bobbin case.
  2. Thread the upper thread: Follow the numbered threading path printed on the machine. Use the automatic needle threader.
  3. Select a basic stitch: Turn the stitch selection dial to a straight stitch (usually "0").
  4. Practice on scrap fabric: Place fabric under the presser foot, lower the foot, and gently press the foot pedal to sew.
  5. Adjust tension if needed: Refer to the manual for recommended tension settings for your fabric.

CAUTION! Keep fingers away from the needle area while sewing. Always turn the power off when threading or changing accessories.

  2. For straight stitch: Set length between 2.0-2.5 for general sewing.
  3. For zigzag: Adjust width for seam finishing or appliqué.
  4. For stretch stitches: Use for knits and elastic fabrics to prevent popped seams.
  5. For buttonholes: Select the one-step buttonhole stitch and attach the buttonhole foot.

Tip: Always test stitch settings on a scrap of your project fabric first.

Basic Sewing Techniques

Follow these steps for successful sewing projects.

  1. Prepare fabric: Press and cut fabric according to pattern.
  2. Thread machine: Follow threading path precisely.
  3. Insert bobbin: Ensure bobbin turns counterclockwise when pulled.
  4. Select stitch: Choose appropriate stitch and settings.
  5. Position fabric: Place fabric under presser foot, lower the foot.
  6. Start sewing: Gently press foot pedal; guide fabric with hands but don't pull.
  7. Secure seams: Sew a few reverse stitches at beginning and end.
  8. Finish: Raise presser foot, pull fabric back, and trim threads.

WARNING! Never sew over pins. Remove pins before they reach the needle to avoid damage and injury.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Unplug machine before any maintenance. Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance.

  1. Remove needle plate screws and lift off the plate.
  2. Use the small brush to remove lint and thread bits from the feed dogs and bobbin area.
  3. Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth.
  4. Oil the machine as indicated in the manual (usually 1-2 drops in designated spots) after every 8-10 hours of use.
  5. Replace the needle regularly (after every project or 8 hours of sewing).

CAUTION! Do not use compressed air or liquid cleaners. Never immerse the machine in water.
