Unpacking and Setup

Unpack and inspect all contents. Place on a stable, flat surface.

  1. Remove machine from packaging: Lift by the carrying handle, not by the free arm.
  2. Attach power cord: Plug foot control into machine, then plug power cord into wall outlet.
  3. Install needle: Loosen needle clamp screw, insert needle with flat side to the back, tighten screw.
  4. Wind bobbin: Follow threading diagram on machine; place bobbin in bobbin winder.
  5. Insert bobbin: Open bobbin cover, drop bobbin in with thread unwinding counterclockwise.

WARNING! Keep fingers away from needle area during operation. Unplug machine when not in use or during maintenance.

First-Time Operation

Plug in machine and turn on power switch.

  1. Thread upper thread: Follow numbered threading path on machine; use automatic needle threader.
  2. Pull up bobbin thread: Hold upper thread, turn handwheel toward you to bring bobbin thread up.
  3. Select stitch: Use stitch selection dial or buttons to choose desired stitch.
  4. Adjust settings: Set stitch length and width according to fabric and stitch type.
  5. Begin sewing: Place fabric under presser foot, lower presser foot lever, and gently press foot control.

CAUTION! Always start with a test scrap of fabric. Ensure presser foot is lowered before sewing.

Stitch Selection Guide

Refer to stitch chart in manual or on machine. Common stitches:

  2. Zigzag Stitch (01): Overcasting, appliqué, stretch fabrics.
  3. Buttonhole Stitch (08): Automatic one-step buttonhole.
  4. Blind Hem Stitch (09): Nearly invisible hems.

Tip: Always test stitch on a fabric scrap to check tension and appearance.

Threading and Bobbin

Upper Threading:

  1. Raise presser foot and needle to highest position.
  2. Place spool on spool pin.
  3. Follow threading guide numbers (1 through 10).
  4. Use automatic needle threader: Pull down lever, hook thread, release lever.

Bobbin Winding:

  1. Place spool on spool pin, thread through bobbin winder tension disc.
  2. Place empty bobbin on winder shaft, push to right.
  3. Hold thread end, press foot control to wind bobbin.
  4. Stop when bobbin is full; cut thread and push winder shaft left.

WARNING! Ensure bobbin thread unwinds counterclockwise in bobbin case.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Unplug machine before cleaning. Remove needle plate to access bobbin area.

  1. Clean lint: Use brush to remove lint from bobbin case, feed dogs, and needle plate area.
  2. Oil machine: Apply 1-2 drops of sewing machine oil to moving parts as indicated in manual (do not over-oil).
  3. Replace needle: Change needle after every project or if dull/bent.
  4. Cover machine: Use dust cover when not in use.

CAUTION! Do not use compressed air; it can force lint deeper. Use only recommended oil.
