Maintenance & Lubrication

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance.

  1. Clean lint and dust: Use small brush to remove debris from feed dogs, bobbin area, and tension discs.
  2. Oil moving parts: Apply 1-2 drops of sewing machine oil to hook race, needle bar, and presser foot bar.
  3. Check belt tension: Ensure drive belt is snug but not overly tight.
  4. Inspect motor brushes: Replace if worn below 1/4 inch.
  5. Test stitch quality: Sew on scrap fabric to verify proper tension and stitch formation.

Frequency: Clean after every 8 hours of use. Oil every 3 months or as needed.

Operational Guidelines

Proper use extends machine life.

  1. Always use correct needle for fabric type.
  2. Match thread weight to needle size.
  3. Adjust tension based on fabric thickness.
  4. Use appropriate presser foot for each function.
  5. Do not force fabric; let feed dogs move it.
  6. Turn handwheel toward you only.
  7. Keep work area well-lit.

Tip: Practice new stitches on scrap fabric before sewing project.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug machine before cleaning. Use soft, dry cloth for exterior. Use small brush for interior.

CAUTION! Do not use compressed air; it can force lint deeper into mechanism. Never immerse machine in water.
