Unpacking and Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable surface.

  1. Remove machine from packaging and all protective materials.
  2. Attach foot pedal: Connect to machine port.
  3. Plug power cord into machine and wall outlet.
  4. Install needle: Loosen needle clamp, insert needle flat side back, tighten.
  5. Wind bobbin: Follow threading diagram; place bobbin in case.
  6. Thread upper thread: Follow numbered threading path; use needle threader.

WARNING! Keep fingers away from needle area during operation. Ensure machine is unplugged during setup.

First-Time Operation

Power on machine; test on scrap fabric.

  1. Select straight stitch: Turn dial to stitch 1.
  2. Place fabric under presser foot; lower presser foot lever.
  3. Press foot pedal gently to start sewing.
  4. Practice reverse stitching: Hold reverse lever while sewing.

CAUTION! Always turn handwheel toward you. Do not force machine.

WARNING! Ensure needle is up when changing feet. Do not force foot.

Maintenance and Cleaning

  2. Clean feed dogs and bobbin area: Use small brush to remove lint.
