Unpacking and Setup

Unpack and inspect all contents. Place on stable, flat surface.

  1. Remove machine from packaging: Lift machine by carrying handle.
  2. Attach foot pedal: Connect pedal cable to machine port.
  3. Connect power: Plug power cord into machine and wall outlet.
  4. Install needle: Use screwdriver to loosen needle clamp, insert needle with flat side to back, tighten.
  5. Wind bobbin: Place thread on spool pin, guide through bobbin winder tension, place bobbin on winder shaft, engage bobbin winder.
  6. Insert bobbin: Drop bobbin into case with thread running counterclockwise, pull thread through slot.
  7. Thread upper thread: Follow numbered threading path on machine, use automatic needle threader.

WARNING! Keep fingers away from needle area during operation. Unplug machine when not in use or during maintenance.

First-Time Operation

Plug in power cord and foot pedal. Turn handwheel toward you to raise needle to highest position.

  1. Select stitch: Turn stitch selection dial to desired stitch number.
  2. Adjust stitch length and width: Use dials to set values (recommended starting points in manual).
  3. Place fabric: Raise presser foot, position fabric under foot, lower presser foot.
  4. Start sewing: Gently press foot pedal to begin; guide fabric without pulling.
  5. Reverse stitching: Hold reverse lever to sew backward for reinforcement.
  6. Finish sewing: Raise needle to highest position, raise presser foot, remove fabric, cut threads.

CAUTION! Always start with needle in highest position. Do not sew over pins.

Stitch Selection and Settings

  4. Blind hem: Stitch 5, blind hem foot, fold fabric as instructed.
  5. Overcasting: Stitch 6, overcasting foot, position fabric edge along guide.
