Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, level surface.

  1. Remove machine from packaging: Lift by carrying handle, not by accessories.
  2. Attach power cord: Plug into machine, then into grounded wall outlet.

Threading the Machine

  6. Insert bobbin: Drop into case with thread clockwise, pull thread through slot.

Tip: Always thread with presser foot raised to open tension discs.

WARNING! Do not change stitch pattern while needle is in fabric. Always stop machine first.

Maintenance & Lubrication

  1. Daily: Clean lint from bobbin area and feed dogs with brush.
  2. Monthly: Oil moving parts (refer to lubrication points diagram).
  3. Use Singer sewing machine oil only.
  4. Apply 1-2 drops to designated points, run machine without thread to distribute.
  5. Wipe excess oil with soft cloth.
  6. Check needle regularly for burrs or bending; replace as needed.

CAUTION! Unplug machine before cleaning or oiling. Do not over-oil.

Needle & Bobbin Replacement

Proper needle and bobbin installation is critical.

Needle Replacement:

  1. Turn handwheel to raise needle to highest position.
  2. Loosen needle clamp screw.
  3. Remove old needle, insert new with flat side facing back.
  4. Push up until it stops, tighten screw firmly.

Bobbin Replacement:

  1. Open bobbin cover, remove empty bobbin.
  2. Insert wound bobbin with thread unwinding clockwise.
  3. Pull thread through slot and under tension spring.
  4. Close cover, pull thread toward back of machine.
