Controls and Adjustments

Main controls are located on the right side of the machine head.

Stitch Length Regulator: Large dial on front right. Turn clockwise for shorter stitches (higher SPI), counter-clockwise for longer stitches.

Tension Dial: Top right. Higher numbers increase top thread tension. Correct tension produces balanced stitches with no loops.

Reverse Lever: Push to the left to sew in reverse; release to sew forward.

Handwheel: Outer wheel turns machine manually. Always turn toward you.

Presser Foot Lifter: Lever at back to raise and lower presser foot.

Bobbin Winder: On top right. Slide bobbin onto spindle and push to engage.

Threading the Machine

Correct threading is essential for proper stitch formation.

  1. Raise presser foot and needle to highest position.
  2. Place thread spool on spool pin.
  3. Follow numbered guides: Pull thread to first thread guide, down to tension discs, up to take-up lever, down to needle bar guide.
  4. Thread needle from front to back.
  5. For bobbin: Place wound bobbin in case with thread unwinding clockwise. Pull thread through tension spring.
  6. Insert bobbin case into hook. You should hear a click.

Tip: Ensure presser foot is raised when threading to allow thread to seat properly in tension discs.

Basic Sewing Operations

Mastering basic operations ensures quality sewing.

  1. Starting: Place fabric under needle, lower presser foot.
  2. Sewing: Gently press foot controller to start. Guide fabric gently; do not push or pull.
  3. Reverse: Hold reverse lever to back-tack at beginning and end of seam.
  4. Turning: Stop with needle down in fabric, raise presser foot, pivot fabric, lower foot, continue.
  5. Finishing: Raise needle, raise presser foot, pull fabric to rear and cut threads with thread cutter.
  6. Changing Needle: Loosen needle clamp screw, remove old needle. Insert new needle with flat side to rear, tighten screw.

WARNING! Never sew over pins. Remove pins before they reach the needle.

Maintenance & Lubrication

Regular maintenance ensures smooth operation and longevity.

Daily: Brush out lint from bobbin area and feed dogs. Wipe exterior with soft cloth.

Monthly/Oil Change: Apply 1-2 drops of sewing machine oil to designated points (see diagram in manual):

Run machine without thread for a minute to distribute oil.

CAUTION! Use only sewing machine oil. Do not use household oils. Unplug machine before oiling.
