Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Machine won't run Power issue, foot pedal disconnected Check power supply, ensure foot pedal is properly connected
Thread bunching underneath Incorrect bobbin threading, tension too loose Re-thread bobbin, adjust bobbin tension
Skipped stitches Wrong needle type, bent needle, incorrect threading Replace needle with correct type, re-thread machine
Thread breaking Wrong thread type, tension too tight, burred needle Use quality thread, reduce tension, replace needle
Fabric not feeding Presser foot pressure too light, feed dogs lowered Increase presser foot pressure, raise feed dogs
Unusual noises Lint buildup, lack of lubrication, loose parts Clean lint, oil moving parts, tighten screws

Common Issues & Solutions

  • Needle breaks: Ensure needle is properly inserted, use correct needle for fabric, avoid pulling fabric
  • Uneven stitches: Check thread tension, re-thread both upper and lower threads
  • Machine jams: Remove fabric, turn handwheel backward to free mechanism, clean bobbin area
  • Buttonhole issues: Use stabilizer, ensure proper foot attachment, test on scrap fabric first
  • Tension problems: Clean tension disks, use same thread type top and bottom
  • Motor runs but needle doesn't move: Check handwheel clutch, ensure it's in sewing position
