Unpacking and Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable surface.

  1. Remove machine from box: Lift by carrying handle, not by accessories.
  2. Attach power cord: Plug into machine and wall outlet (120V).
  3. Install foot control: Connect to machine port, place on floor.
  4. Attach accessory tray: Slide onto free arm if removable.
  5. Insert needle: Loosen screw, insert flat side to back, tighten.

First-Time Operation

Power on machine; follow setup steps.

  1. Wind bobbin: Place thread on spool pin, guide through tension, wind onto bobbin.
  2. Insert bobbin: Drop into bobbin case, thread through slot, pull under tension spring.
  3. Thread upper thread: Follow numbered path, use automatic needle threader.

CAUTION! Keep fingers away from needle during operation. Turn power off when threading.

Stitch Selection Guide

  1. Select stitch number on dial.

Threading and Bobbin

Upper Threading:

  1. Raise presser foot and needle to highest position.
  2. Place spool on pin, follow numbered threading path.
  3. Use automatic needle threader: Lower lever, hook thread, release lever.

Bobbin Winding:

  1. Place spool on pin, thread through bobbin winding tension.
  2. Place bobbin on winder, push to right.
  3. Hold thread end, press foot control to wind.
  4. Stop when full, cut thread, push winder back.

WARNING! Always raise presser foot when threading. Ensure bobbin is inserted correctly.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Unplug before maintenance. Clean lint from bobbin area and feed dogs after each project. Oil as per manual instructions (use Singer sewing machine oil only).

CAUTION! Do not use compressed air; it can force lint into machine. Never oil without unplugging.
