Unpacking and Setup

Unpack and inspect all contents. Place on a stable, flat surface.

  1. Remove machine and accessories from packaging.
  2. Attach power cord to machine and plug into a 110V outlet.
  3. Install foot controller: Plug into machine port.
  4. Attach needle: Loosen needle clamp screw, insert needle with flat side to the back, tighten screw.
  5. Wind and insert bobbin: Follow threading diagram.
  6. Thread upper thread: Follow numbered path on machine.

WARNING! Machine is heavy; lift with care. Ensure work area is well-lit and free of obstructions.

First-Time Operation

Power on machine; practice on scrap fabric.

  1. Select stitch: Turn stitch selector dial to desired pattern (e.g., straight stitch).
  2. Adjust settings: Set stitch length and width as needed.
  3. Position fabric: Lower presser foot lever.
  4. Start sewing: Press foot controller gently to begin.
  5. Reverse: Hold reverse lever to sew backwards for securing stitches.
  6. Finish: Raise needle, lift presser foot, and remove fabric.

CAUTION! Keep fingers away from needle while sewing. Always turn handwheel towards you.

Stitch Selection & Functions

Use stitch selector dial to choose pattern.

  2. Zigzag Stitch (Pattern 2-4): For finishing edges, appliqué. Adjust width and length.
  3. Blind Hem Stitch (Pattern 5): For nearly invisible hems.
  4. Decorative Stitches (Pattern 6-11): For embellishment.
  5. 4-Step Buttonhole (Pattern A-D): Follow markings for each step (side, front, side, front).

Tip: Always test stitch on a fabric scrap before starting your project.

Threading & Bobbin Winding

Correct threading is essential for proper operation.

  1. Wind Bobbin: Place thread spool on pin, guide thread through bobbin winder tension, place bobbin on spindle, push to right, press foot controller.
  2. Insert Bobbin: Open cover, drop bobbin in with thread unwinding counter-clockwise, pull thread through slot and under tension spring.
  3. Thread Upper Thread: Raise presser foot and needle. Follow numbered path: from spool pin, through thread guides, down to tension discs, up and through take-up lever, down to needle. Thread needle from front to back.

WARNING! Ensure presser foot is raised when threading to engage tension discs.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance.

  1. Unplug machine before any maintenance.
  2. Remove needle plate screws and lift plate to access bobbin area.
  3. Use small brush to remove lint and thread bits from bobbin case and feed dogs.
  4. Wipe exterior with soft, dry cloth.
  5. Oil sparingly as per manual instructions (specific points indicated in diagram).

CAUTION! Do not use compressed air or liquids. Never oil without consulting manual.
