Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, flat surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and protective covers.
  2. Attach foot pedal: Connect to machine port at front right.
  3. Install needle: Loosen needle clamp screw, insert needle with flat side to back, tighten.
  4. Wind bobbin: Place thread on spool pin, follow threading guide, wind bobbin evenly.
  5. Insert bobbin: Drop bobbin into case with thread running counterclockwise.
  6. Plug into AC power outlet.

WARNING! Keep fingers away from needle area during setup. Ensure machine is unplugged when installing needle.

First-Time Operation

Power on machine; follow threading sequence.

  1. Thread upper thread: Follow numbered path on machine from spool to needle.
  2. Use automatic needle threader: Lower lever to hook thread through needle eye.
  3. Pull up bobbin thread: Hold upper thread, turn handwheel toward you to bring up bobbin thread.
  4. Test stitches: Select straight stitch, place fabric under presser foot, lower foot, and begin sewing.
  5. Adjust tension: Test on scrap fabric; adjust tension dial if needed.

CAUTION! Always turn handwheel toward you. Never sew without fabric under presser foot.
