Unpacking and Setup

Unpack and inspect all contents. Place on a stable, flat surface.

  1. Remove machine and accessories from packaging.
  2. Attach the power cord to the machine and plug into a 120V AC outlet.
  3. Install the foot controller into the appropriate port.
  4. Attach the accessory tray if included.
  5. Raise the presser foot lever and install a needle (flat side toward the back).

WARNING! Machine is heavy; lift with care. Ensure the power is off during setup.

First-Time Operation

Power on the machine; familiarize yourself with controls.

  1. Thread the machine: Follow the numbered threading path on the machine.
  2. Wind the bobbin: Place thread on spool pin, guide through bobbin winder tension, and engage bobbin winder.
  3. Insert bobbin: Place bobbin in case with thread pulling counterclockwise; drop into bobbin slot.
  4. Select a stitch: Turn the stitch selection dial to desired pattern.
  5. Test sew: Use scrap fabric to adjust tension and stitch settings.

CAUTION! Keep fingers away from the needle while sewing. Always turn off power when not in use.

Stitch Selection: Turn dial to select from 64 stitches (straight, zigzag, decorative, stretch). Stitch Length: Adjust from 0-4 mm. Stitch Width: Adjust from 0-5 mm for zigzag and decorative stitches. Tension: Adjust upper thread tension dial (usually set to 4 for balanced stitches).

Stitch Selection and Settings

Select stitches for various fabrics and projects.

  1. Turn stitch selection dial to desired number (refer to stitch chart).
  2. Adjust stitch length: Shorter for finer fabrics, longer for basting.
  3. Adjust stitch width: For zigzag and decorative stitches.
  4. Test on scrap fabric to ensure proper tension and appearance.

Tip: Use the recommended needle and thread for your fabric type.

Threading and Bobbin Winding

Proper threading is essential for smooth operation.

  1. Raise presser foot and needle to highest position.
  2. Place thread spool on spool pin.
  3. Follow threading guide: Through thread guides, tension discs, and take-up lever.
  4. Use automatic needle threader: Lower lever, hook thread, and release lever.
  5. Wind bobbin: Place thread on spool pin, guide through bobbin winder tension, wrap thread around bobbin, push bobbin winder to engage, and press foot controller.
  6. Insert bobbin: Ensure thread pulls counterclockwise; place in bobbin case and pull thread through slot.

WARNING! Always thread with presser foot raised to open tension discs.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Unplug before cleaning. Regularly clean lint and dust from bobbin area and feed dogs.

  1. Remove needle plate screws and lift plate.
  2. Use small brush to remove lint from bobbin area and feed dogs.
  3. Oil moving parts as per manual instructions (use only sewing machine oil).
  4. Wipe exterior with soft, dry cloth.

CAUTION! Do not use compressed air or liquids inside the machine.
