Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Machine won't run Power issue, foot control disconnected Check power cord connection, ensure foot control is plugged in
Thread bunching underneath Incorrect threading, tension too tight Re-thread completely, adjust upper tension, check bobbin
Needle breaks Wrong needle type, bent needle, fabric pulling Replace with correct needle, don't pull fabric, check alignment
Skipped stitches Dull needle, wrong needle for fabric, timing issue Change needle, use correct needle type, check hook timing
Uneven stitches Incorrect tension, dirty machine, poor quality thread Clean machine, adjust tension, use quality thread
Fabric not feeding Feed dogs lowered, presser foot pressure too light Raise feed dogs, increase presser foot pressure

Common Issues and Solutions

  • Thread Tangles: Ensure proper threading sequence and use quality thread
  • Noisy Operation: Clean lint buildup, oil moving parts (if required by model)
  • Buttonhole Issues: Stabilize fabric, use appropriate foot, test on scrap first
  • Tension Problems: Clean tension discs, re-thread completely, check bobbin case
  • Motor Overheating: Allow to cool, clean ventilation areas, avoid continuous heavy use
  • Light Not Working: Replace bulb, check connection, consult manual for bulb type
